Why do we do yahoo! answers?

I figured it was because your helping people out and that feels good in general. Any ideas?

I answer because I like feeling like a know it all.  

I ask because sometimes it's easier to rely on a fellow know-it-all than spend time googling something.

It is a place were one can give or receive advice, when it comes to different situations people may have. We do it because we may be curious to know something. There is so much information one can receive in a certain topic for example music or psychology. You also get to choose whose answer most fits you when you have a question.

Feels good to help others, and you like when others help you too when unsure of something...in your life. Thats why I do it.

Every once in a while you have the opportunity to help somebody that is truly seeking an answer.  Most people that participate don't do so with serious intent however.  Knowing that you may have helped somebody a little is a little boost for your ego.

because we need answers

and because we need to feel that we are important, i mean when you answer someones question you feel that you are important, you can do something, even just answer a question

I usually do it because I'm bored, but I will see an occasional question that I have a helpful answer to.
