  1. we have got so used to living a comfortable life that we cant even make small adjustments for the benefit of the earth.

  2. well, we do that becuase of what humans wanted. Like we wanted to have hot water, we wanted electronics, we wanted or invented alot of things like that. So i guess that's the main reason.

  3. Actually, our great country does more than most of the world to take care of the environment.   We also do more to take care of the poor.  You've been lied to.

  4. it has to start one by one; educating yoursef & others; like a pebble thrown into a puddle that sends ripples out it keeps expanding but 1st needs to have someone to start with in YOUR universe of people you meet, talk with; family; etc; start with yourself 1st; stop using chemicals; they simply poison everything; you can easily make own laundry soaps, fabric softners if you like; learn about microfiber cloths: 200,000 grabbing super cleaners per square inch on cloth: made to work with ONLY WATER! Mopping, dusting, cleaning bath tubs; cleaning deep oil ingrained kitchen cabinets; these are miraculous things: using only water they work far better than any chemical does; I found out about these by watching HSN during the problem solving & janitorial shows: i found a couple at the $1 store; a few more at 1 janitorial store; dura fiber microfiber cloths can only be found on HSN in the various ones they offer: because they agree to be on HSN for a certain time before they go out in the public stores; start with yourself; learn all you can & share with others! Good luck!

  5. There are many reasons which deserve our serius consideration and action. I will attempt to highlight a few important aspects.

    1. Our - the people's, media's, policymaker's, government's - ideas of  "development" and "progress" are largely archaic, outdated, mercenary, narrowminded, degrading and eco-enemical. Ours is a money-centred Society where selfishness is the only virtue. The rich and powerful who continue to mercilessly exploit Earth's limited and precious resources have no idea of the immense destruction they are causing nor are they willing to learn or change their technologies.Their present actions are deterimental not only to others but even to them in the longterm ! The governments serve them and are not in favour of any control over their various activities. In countries like India, we have plenty of laws for protection of Nature but such law often exists only on paper ! ! Lack of political will seems to be pervading all the nations , be it China or US or India...

The mass media icluding the TV which could educate the public and government and also act as watchdogs are callously indifferent because they are busy with coverage of much more important subjects such as Beauty Contests, H(B)ollywood glitter and gossip and Cricket !

    2. UN and such other international bodies have been rendered helpless in the wake of Bush government of US usurping all their powers. A government which unleashes and continues to wage wars can hardly have any sense or respect for ecological or environmental concerns. The other nations are mute and deaf spectators in this power game of aggression and domination, perhaps to share some of the booty !

    3. The deafening silence of the scientists who should be occupying the Centrestage of UN and other international bodies which seek to modify and regulate economic and industrial policies the world all over and the massmedia warning the entire HUMANKIND of the dangers and perils of ignoring to convert to eco-friendly priorities, plans and schemes.

    4. Millions of innocent people have been forced into living in unhygenic conditions where even toilet is nonexistent and clean drinking water is a luxury. They have no choice and compelled to pollute the land and water. And the governments of such peoples are busy purchasing and piling weapons of mass destruction spending astronomical amounts for this instead of improving the living conditions of these people, thereby removing much of the needless and avoidable pollution.

    5. Safety and security of the forests is of low priority in many nations.  Grossly insufficient and paltry funds are alloted to this Department. The forestguards are not paid properly or trained adequately. They have poor weapons and equipments.Often they suffer lack of enthusiasm or motivation for their work and these people get corrupted in course of time. Enforcement of law is neither scientific, efficient, quick or deterrent but bogged in lethargic, time consuming redtapism.

    6. Non-governmental organisations involved in spreading awareness for ecology and environmental science are few and far between and grossly insufficient in number. Often they suffer lack of funds. They are also not recognised by the Government or utilised by local bodies of governance. The so called "educated" are  for the most part indifferent to the Conservation and Ecoeducative programmes of these organisations.

    7. There must be international treaties on banning trade on wildlife and wildlife products. International Police must be created and confered powers of seizure, arrest and prosecution. Each country must have a Special Department to educate the public on Conservation and Preservation of Nature, wilderness and wildlife and the dangers of pollution and means and ways to avoid ecoenemical way of life. This Department must also help dispel the fears and superstitions regarding "talismans",

"aphrosodiacs", "traditional medicine" etc. This must be monitored by UN annually.

  6. Yes we have the right to do this, what do you think those resources are for? Besides we will be long dead by the time they run out of resources. That's the future's problem, not mine.

  7. this is because of humans' unaltruistic deeds and want to become richer and richer
