my roommate thinks i'm weird because i typically like a big glass of milk after eating ice cream!

because icecream has lots and lots and lots of sugar in it. and sugar draws water from your body just like salt does. which makes you thirsty.

Because the cream is so thick it sticks to our mouths and throats. If they  thin the cream when they make it, it would be less tasty.  So they come with this solution.  In fact, some of the better ice cream parlors give out free water.
