Why do we eat bread as a side to pasta? and pizza? carbs and carbs?

doesnt make any sense for people dieting....i mean personally i dont mind it, but it would make more sense to have like a dark leafy green side item to a pasta,

  1. Usually a meal like that would include both bread and lettuce. The bread is meant for picking up extra sauce.  


  2. because spaghetti & garlic bread just tastes so darn good! :-)


  3. I have actually not had breadsticks as a side dish to pasta or pizza in years.

  4. Because bread is the best food. Carbs or not.  

  5. i usually dont eat bread with pizza but bread with pasta is good becuase it helps you pick up the sauce and yes a leafy side item would be better
