  1. It is not just the fly half position!

    It is every position!

They can have 2 excellent teams within 1 squad and they all interact with each other perfectly!

They start rugby at a very young age out there and have a national team starting at the age of 12. This means they grow up playing together.

The national team also have "central contracts" meaning the Henry can call them at any time from their clubs, the NZ team are already in the National camp preparing for the WC, and individual players getting coached by the top coaches in the world!

They spot a talent at A very young age and nature that talent throughout the youth age without needing to put all the pressure on one guy.  Something we should be doing  here!

  2. This is a very weird question for a variety of reasons.

    1. England are inferior to New Zealand in ALL positions, not just out-half.

2.Out half is actually one of Englands best positions, while Jonny Wilkonsons talents are well renowned I accept the arguement that this is a mute point if he remains perpetually injured!

However I ( as a neutral observer) have been really impressed with the emergence of Toby Flood and Shane Geraghty both seem to have oodles of skill which is only surpassed by their potential.

Don't get too worried about one performance!

    3. New Zealand did not always have a phletora of world class fly halves ; Carlos Spencer for one certainly did not set the world alight during his period as number 1 for New Zealand.

Also the present crop excluding Carter are as unproven at international level as the English youngsters.

  3. Well considering you seem to be writing off Toby Flood and Geraghty after just one match, maybe you have answered your own question?

  4. England play a very forward dominated game so the fly half is usualy just there for tactical kicking. They don't get as much chance to make a break as the players outside them aren't as good so you don't get to see the best of the English fly halves. NZ play a more expansive game, which gives their 10s more chance to shine. If you look at Wales, their fly halves always look better when their forwards can get control of the ball, as they have quality backs outside to make space for the 10 to vary his game but when the pack is in trouble, the fly half looks poor. The problem with England isn't their fly halves, it's getting a team with good forwards and good backs c.f. 2003.

  5. Back home in NZ they start playing rugby when theyre very little so they get more practice. Rugby is also the sport that all kiwis play, when in england not very many people play. Its not just the halfs but all of the NZ team in better than the english team.
