Why do we force gymnast ladies to wear a leotrad..?

to perform almost naked..

as if their talents, and their hard work is not a enough to make a good show for us?!! as we need to see more..??? (by we, i mean men)

when and how had gymnasts started wearing leotards?

You should really look at stock footage of gymnastics from the 30's and 40's.  Gymnast have always worn a leotard and probably will always.  the one piece unit always freedom of movement while not in-cumbering the athlete too much.  While perverts will say it's "s**y", it is the uniform.  But you should really be asking "why do the beach volleyball players have to wear such tiny bikini's all the time"...that's a real question.

they aren't forced. there was someone who was wearing spandex pants.

its just like wearing a swim suit if youre a swimmer.  covers the parts you don't want showing.

They need something body hugging to be able to move well. It's not like the leotards are all revealing or anything.

The leotard is a very practical garment for gymnasts.  You'll notice that guys wear them too.  The idea is to have a concealing garment which conforms to the person's shape and moves with them.  A loose fitting garment would end up binding at the wrong moment and possibly even injuring the wearer.  

Further, loose fitting clothing would prevent the judges from seeing the exact positions of the gymnast's body, arms, legs, knees and elbows.  Such things are important.  How can you tell if they stuck their landing if you can't see the knees flex or not flex?

Honesty, I didn't think anyone would make an issue of this.

I happen to think those are nice garments if you have a fit body like them...

By the way, do you go to the beach?

Aren't you used to seeing people show even more skin on the beach?
