Why do we give Israel billions each year for their military

And then wonder why the Middle East is a hornet's nest, filled with hatred of America and constant war between israel and its neighbors. We have adopted a problem child in Israel.

Well, two possibilities:

1. They actually think it is doing some good.

2. It's a cynical effort to keep the Middle east destabilized which facilitates our exploitation of their oil, and keeps the USA military industrial complex in obscene profit mode.

I suspect it's a complex mix of both motivations.

As in almost all "intractable" conflicts like this, as long as one side has the infinite support of a superpower, they have no motivation to seek a negotiated settlement. If the USA cut Israel's military funding, they would negotiate peace agreements with their neighbours in a heartbeat. They've been at peace with Jordan and Egypt for decades, the idea that Arabs and Jews can't live in peace is modern propaganda.

You have ask the very question all of the Americans should be asking.For your information the country called Israel was not in existance before world war one.The jews were all  over Europe and America.They lived terribally and were persecuted in Britain,Europe Germany and even Russia.The Jews were the hated lot and they were even required to wear badges that they were Jews when ever they were out in pullic.The Germans hated them,the European hated them the British despised themand the American acted the same.The jews then were considered the scumm of the earth.

The Muslim under the Othoman Empire on the other hand gave the Jews protection from persecution by the British and the Europeans.The Jews lived well under Muslim rule and prospered.

When eventually the war was over the big five power of the world decided to repay the Jews for the atrocity they had done to the Jews.To do that they then robbed the Arabs particularly the Palasatinian land and created a state called Israel.Lots of Arab were displaced and murdered during the process.Their homes destroyed and their farm land razed to the ground .

The Arabs were supporters of thew big five during the war but that is how the arab were repaid for their good deeds...now that Israel is there the American and the rest of the big five havew decided to protect their creation from distruction.thus America have to send billions of dollars worth of weapon every year and continue to perpetuate the war on the Arabs since the Arab want back their land.The dispute between Arab and Israel will continue till the end of time..America shall bare the burden till then.

For the same reason we give billions each year to other countries. Because the government of the USA needs to do something with the money it steals from the people.

Why is the United States spending billions to fix up Iraq? Billions to Africa?

We can blame God, because he told the Israeli people, "This land is yours". But then again, he told the same thing to the people of Palestine, and they've been fighting ever since.
