an excuse by saying that what they do is the result of a "disease"? It just makes it sound noble. If they are shamed by it, by calling it what it is, an aberration, then maybe people will see that it's not acceptable and do what they can to stop, instead of wallowing in the self-pity that having a "disease" can bring? I am overweight but I make no excuses. I did this to myself and I am taking the responsibility of endeavoring to reverse it.

  1. You are equating things that are not even in the same realm.

I Have known many adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and of alcholic abusive parents. These people are sometimes unable to function.

So, my daughters who are now young adults have fat parents. We dont go to jail, to the bar, or to the playground to pick up other peoples children. We go to the buffet!

I am not blaming others for my fatness.

But comparing my weight to things that injure innocent people is carrying it a bit far!

    Unless I sit on them!
