  1. if you had brains you would be dangerous.

  2. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

there is nothing better u can do in life than getting an education and securing your future

if u apply for a job,u can't say I know a lot of things u have to show proof of what u know and what u studied

  3. School IS important but these days the teachers are only in it for the money and the holidays and can't be arsed with the pupil's welfare and education. Teaching should be fun. The kids are having that much of a good time they don't realise that they are actually learning something.

Isn't that what education is all about?

  4. School isn't for everyone...

... but I have to be honest, college was the most fun I've ever had in my life, socially and educationally. I climbed through Agamemnon's tomb in Greece, I visited Salinas, CA where John Steinbeck wrote "Grapes of Wrath," and my university friends and I had more to talk about than just s*x and movies. I loved it.

I really can't argue the merits of grade school. Dull. I will say that educating yourself in or out of school can save you from a lot of heartache. If you don't know your history, you can't know who you are or appreciate other people's cultures. If you don't your history, you're doomed to repeat it.

PS> "I ain't working for no one?" Powerful wording, Huck Finn!

  5. Because we can have more options and oportunities man. Sure you can make alot of money in owning a business and not goto college. However how are you going get all that money to buy it?

  6. You speak as if you are from the south of United States. Can you hold down a good paying job? If you are talking about street smarts that may just keep you alive. Could you write a good resume to get a good job? If you can do all of that that is pretty good. Some do make good money w/ out a college degree and not finishing high school. They are the ones that work very hard, no pie jobs. Usually construction working extreme temperatures long hours.

  7. I think it depends on what you want out of life really. Some people are more academically-minded, whereas others have more vocational goals. The thing with school is, 95% of what you learn you will never need to use, mind you if you hadn't gone to school then you wouldn't be able to read this, or do simple arithmetic. But staying in education isn't for everyone.

  8. School is important, but the education system has been bastardized so much that it has come to a point that kids go to school in hopes of earning better wages, rather than educating themselves for the good of educating themselves. I blame this partly on parents who are so keen on seeing their children growing up to be a celebrity rather than a good doctor/mathematician.

You're 17, and I remember I had a teacher (personal mentor too) tell me that those who leave school early, excluding the odd exception such as Bill Gates, tend to have their wages remain relatively the same. Those who go into further education are more prone to the likelihood of promotion. With that being the case, and seeing the current rarity of jobs in the UK now due to immigrants from Eastern Europe and beyond, such has to be taken seriously. It isn't to say that not going to school will mean a life of poverty and being a blue-collar. It is saying that the probabilities are a lot higher. Nor is it saying that going to University will mean a Utopian lifestyle. If that were the case, everyone would be living on private islands with mansions.

I only wished I had taken school seriously when I was in Nursery. Things would have been a lot different. I hope you don't ever face such a regret if you do wish to continue on your path. If it does, it'll be like a stab in your back, only that in this case the knife can never be pulled.

Edit: Silly f**t: I don't tend to regret things, but if I could go back in time, I would change that. I know so many things would have been a lot easier. It may come as a surprise to you, but your first 7 years of living on the planet defines you.

Edit: Silly f**t: That's what I wished I done, rather than playing video games!

  9. Because it's the only way for most of us to learn. Remember the average person has an iq of 90.

  10. - You are keeping it real; the richest people aren't the ones w/ a degree but the ones who start their own business

  11. don't bash people who are academically educated though. everyone can be great. look at Richard Branson. if you can make money in a different way then good for you

    tip:ignore the weirdo lol

marvin- were you being serious about taking nursery more seriously?!

edit:mmm you may be very right there. my parents schooled me at home everyday after school around that age. i had to learn my X tables before everyone else in my class. good point

  12. You actually sound like my dad (no offence) because he dropped out of school and hasn't got any qualifications yet he's got a good job and he's like im amazing lol sorry it made me laugh when you went ''aint i great'' Primary school is for the basic stuff really but i get your point as most people will learn by their mistakes trial and error and also through their family.. However school and higher education looks good in a CV and is evidence that your as smart as you think you are.. I got no doubt that you aint smart by the way xx

  13. becasuse in the scociety we live in your exam results are what is going to get you far in life without them it gets harder to get a job
