So i want to know how many of you have a religion and for what reasons do you believe in it. I also have this question why do you believe in a higher power is it because you hope that at the end good people get rewarded or because of fear of dying in pain. One more question why do you think your religion is any more pure then any other religion.

This is just a question I have please don't be offended just want to get to know what people think about religion. Thanks

  1. without religion preachers would be out of work.

  2. i think this is a good question. for me i'm muslim but not religious ther'es some things i follow and others i don't - for most they don't concider me muslim but to me all that matters is what God thinks of me. i live a good life, try to do good and be a good hearted person. a good wife and mother. so what if i don't pray 5 times a day - i pray what in my heart, and i thank God for everything everyday.  i don't believe that one religion is better than another, as long as you believe in God, believing in religion SHOULD make you a better person. however even some of the most devote believers are perfect religiously but not humanly. not that anyone can be perfect but just being a good person. the reason why i believe in God is cuz He's always been a part of my life, from home, to helping me though tough times...i realize it cuz i had prayers that came true. and i hope that i'll get to see the loved ones i lost. i hope that this isn't all there is... and i hope that God takes care of us. just hope. without hope nothing exists. hoping God hears our prayers, hoping He answers it, hoping he leads us on the right path. my modo is don't judge - only God judges. believe in whatever you want just be a good person, do good, help others and at the end have no regrets and a pure simple soul.

  3. I belive in God because I wanted answers and he is a life changing experience not because if i didnt i would go to h**l. My faith is true because it makes sence. the bible has recorded events and prophecies that came true. there must be a reason for all of this and God was the revealed truth. i experience Him daily. We have religions because God gave us faith. We choose how to use it.

  4. i believe in God because i want to go to heaven forever and be rewarded, no one seems to understand that, just because there is no proof does not prove something false, and if there is no proof for God, i don't want to take a risk of ending up in h**l

i love you jesus and God

  5. Well...i believe that back on the day...im talkn like...the times where jesus and all the bible times began...it was VERy hard times....and people needed something for comfort....so they created this magical being. "god"...and then the whole religion was born. To me...its nothing more than a story that was told for comfort...and it got out of control. I think its sad how many lives have been lost over wars having to do with religion and whos "god" is better or more real. Its a crutch that people use. God loves me....jesus will save me...etc. Its in a sense a form of control. for example....

"dont do this or that...or you wont go to heaven"

"believe in jesus...he will save you"

its kind of like a cult...scary stuff when they feed it to little kids constantly...

    control!

no offense to people who believe though.

  6. I do not feel I am a religious person but more of a spiritual person. I believe in God, mainly through all the experiences that I have had in my life.  People are not rewarded nor punished in life, however a law of the Universe is like attracts like (karma), so if you are good, good things will come your way, if you are not then other things will come your way, this is all to teach us the best way.  You do not go to heaven you grow to heaven.

    Religion

I believe that what happens is a person or group of people have a religious experience.  They get together and talk about it, others hear this and start to follow it.  It becomes a religion.  Over time as the group gets larger people may not know the original experience but profess to know about it.  These people need to discover (rediscover) their own experiences.  So the original experience or idea is fine however it may get modified over time.  The core of all religions is to love each other and treat others as you would be treated.

The bottom line is each person may be best suited if they learn to experience God in their own way and learn to respect the choices of others.
