  1. Because people like to be part of a group.  By definition, a group excludes other people.

    Therefore, you not only have race classifications but men vs. women, young vs. old, rich vs. poor, landlords vs. tenants, white collar vs. blue collar, etc., etc., etc.


  2. no, there's black and white in our culture.

    Same thing with girls and boys. Boys are MEANT to have Masculin (or however you spell it) qualities and Females are MEANT to have feminine qualities. This is not true. Boys are said to be tough and strong and stuff, but they can have feminine qualities as well, they just need to balance them out. Same thing with girls. Another thing, feminine is NOT another word for female and Masculin is NOT another word for male. I learned this in my Literature class. It's pretty interesting.
