Why do we have to do this? doctors, nurses, hospital workers help needed.?

me and my friend want to volunteer to play and read and do stuff with sick kids at the childrens hospital near by. my mom called in today and asked about it. now we have to fill out this huge *** application and have a school transcript (whatever the h**l that is) and 2 letters of reccomendation AND to top that off we have to get some type of "shot" to see if we have TB. what the h**l is up with all that?

Oh my a doc, nurse or hospital worker is not the only person that can answer this, anyone with commonsense can. They want to make sure you guys have all your marbles. That your not trouble makers. They can't just let anyone in there, they have to take the appropriate steps to protect the children. You wouldn't want some child molestor to say "hey I wanna read books to the kids" and they let him in without checking him out, would you? And freakin duh they want to make sure you don't have tb as to NOT give it to the kids that are already sick. How old are you my 13 year old would know the answer to this question.

With the way you talk to strangers and your maturity level there's no way you are suitable to be reading stories to kids

My daughter is disabled and has had many surgeries and I wouldn't want some snot nose know it all kid reading to her stick to your bratz collection.

any time you sign up to be near children, your character will be question, sort of like if you apply for a job.  They want to know that you are legit.  If you have TB, you might spread it to our little friends.  Recommendations will tell them if you are fit to take care of kids.

Its for the safety of the children.

At the shelter you have to fill out an application. Attend and orientation and then spend about 3 hours in training. Thats only if you pass your interview.

You better mature a little before you decide to do this. It's not all 1-2-3 and go. Life isn't instant when you decide to want to do something.
