  1. So we don't make the same mistakes they did back then.  Also, ancient Greece was the birthplace of democracy, one of the main ideas on which this country was founded.


  2. A lot of practices we use today are based on ancient greece. calendars for example. Also the democracy, and architecture.

  3. Because it was the birthplace of western democracy  and their art and architecture are still with us today.  All we know about ancient history comes to us because the Greeks left written records that were preserved by the Romans and then made the Renaissance possible.

  4. Because Greek history and mythology are really interesting :)

    Aside from that, they're the ones who came up with the idea of democracy, as well as a lot of math and science (Pythagoras, for example).
