  1. I think it is scandalous.  I have to drive for my job and I get so much less mileage for my money than I used to. It is another factor fuelling inflation.

Edit; To the person above, almost certainly UK

  2. oh shut up... its taxation. we all have to pay it... its how we support our lavish lifestyles and services.

oh i know, you see it all as an injustice, perpetrated by a money grabbing govt... FOOL. the conservatives raised fuel duty by 127% so far labour has raised it 25%, BUT the raw price of oil has risen 270%

and in the real world, you either put up with it, or walk... or buy a diesel and run it on veg oil.

and i applaud you wishing to stand up and be counted... not that itll make a halfpennyś worth of difference.

  3. You are voicing complaints that many people have voiced many times before.

Though I fully agree with you it would seem you are whistling in the wind, like many of us who have raised this issue with senior people,

My feeling on this is we should not, be subject to these high prices for fuel,

The biggest levy on this is, the tax by the government,it does seem strange they can donate ,millions to other countries, and Tax us to high heaven maybe that is how, they can donate this money??

  4. Because the government are 'organised thieves'

They ensure local post offices are closed down, put local shops out of business through extortionate rents and 'business rates'.

They close down local schools and businesses so EVERYBODY HAS to travel.

Then they suggest that public transport is the answer ?????

Have you ever walked to the bus stop with your 3 under 5 year old children to get a bus to post a letter ??? £2 a go.

Have you tried doing the same going for your weekly shopping and tried getting your shopping home ????

    Its a farce.

Motoring is NOT a luxury like it was in 1910.

It is ESSENTIAL due to government policy.

I think the population of this great country is on a tipping point regarding motoring.

Government happily take £50 BILLION a year from motorists and hardly build a single new road.

The revolt is NOT far away at all.

  5. UK. The reason is tax upon tax and a little extra by John Prescott to help the environment on which no money was spent and if the price of oil comes down and the Oil Companies reduce petrol prices the government will put the tax up again to help the environment and as a result food prices will become more ridiculous and the government will scream foul because people will want more money from employers to pay for the government taxes. The economy is fouled up good-style because the Labour government pretends to understand economics and banking and is too incompetent to admit that it does not. Result is hey hey hey you will pay

  6. ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH U!!

    This is obviously the UK!

  7. Who is we?

What country are you talking about?

  8. Because we are tourists in this planet.

  9. This particular government has attempted to buy votes through a wide range of social benefits for the underclass.  To pay for its programs of social engineering requires money- the government therefore is willing to raise funds in any way possible.  The base price of petrol increases and the government simply reaps the benefit of the price increase as the tax imposed is levied upon the commodity itself.

If social programs were cut to a reasonable level the need for revenue would decrease.  Taxpayers are funding the new "leisure class" ie the feckless and lazy.

  10. It might als ohave to do with supply and demand.

  11. so that we can give every thing we have to immigrants and pour billions every year into hopeless country,s that refuse to join the modern world. + we have domes to pay for. Olympics to pay for......you know....all those worth while things that make such a huge difference to our lives. and don't forget that with a tax as high as £4.65 for every packet of cigarettes smoked, they also have to find an alternative way to fund the NHS now that every one is ordered to give up.

  12. because your a socialist country , it not bad mouthing you but they are taxing all they can to raise the money to pay for the programs

  13. Because the White House oil men are more focused on opposing g*y marriages and their senators are focused on g*y male prostitutes.

  14. Have you ever tried WLKING your children to a post box instead of being lazy and taking a bus or a car?

    Motoring is not an 'essential'

When my car broke down abd i had to walk instead I realised that London is really quite small.

It took me only 1/2 an hour to walk from camden to Holborn(for example)

When I drove it took me more time than that.!

We need to stop moaning about our 'right' to drive a gas guzzling death trap ( and only complain when someone knocks us over) and take responsibility for the fact that we are using up all of the worlds oil reserves

'Peak OIL' (when demand outstrips supply) is coming VERY soon.

$100 for a barrel of oil will happen this year.

Our prices are jacked up because of our taxes of course.

But if we go without doctors, dentists, people to pick the vegetables which keep the U.K. as a producing economy, instead of relying on other countries to buy our stuff from, then our taxes would go up!

The immigrant workers we depend upon are paying tax for us!

If you really want to spend less at the pump: Tell our Govt to leave Iraq.

Only this week has oil production in Iraq reached the level it was at BEFORE we invaded!

If we hadn't interfered it might be 10 times what it is now and petrol prices would be cheaper as a result!

(yes saddam was a bad man, but waterboarding potential criminals makes us as bad as the regime we are supposed to be better than)

IF OUR TAX WAS SPENT ON US , NOT ON SENDING SOLDIERS INTO COUNTRIES WE CANNOT CONTROL, THEN OUR PETROL WOULD BE MUCH, MUCH CHEAPER!

(and if we keep bombing places, the refugees from those places will want to come here to avoid the war!)

  15. You have to pay for that "free" health insurance some way. Not to mention freebies given to illegal aliens, or does UK not have immigration laws? That's just one of the reasons we're fighting the demoncrats so hard here.

  16. Pay it to the EU.

  17. Why not?

When it's long distance driving out to the counrty-side.

    When in town.

Can always go on bicycle in going green.

That is good for health and solve the traffic jams.

At the same time save on fuel.

    Look in the real world.

When everyone is getting more and more lazy in walking too.

    What do you think?

  18. It would be useful to many countries to switch moe of their tax burden to fossil fuels, take it off things like incomes and homes.

I can avoid a tax on fossil fuel by not using so much, and I can avoid a tax on income by earning less. I prefer to use less fossil fuel. leave a bit around for another generation.

  19. People are moaning about the price of petrol and today a group of people, organised a demonstrated to show the government the country wasn't happy and where were all you lot moaning. Doing what this country is good at armchair moaning. You never do nothing about it. The uk moan about the government, but less then half go out and vote.

Personnal I have the same opinion as a certain middle aged petrol head, who said if we were all green and run our cars on water. We would be paying nearly £5 a litre so a pound a litre isn't bad.

  20. thats right,. we are the most taxed nation in history of the world. we are more taxed than the romans did to the conquered world.

and u know wot, its not just a bout the gov't and politician who are to blame.its u and me cos we trust them with their lies and hipocracies. they come to us as friends during election to get votes cos they think we are duh enough to see thru them.

    think about this

next time during election do what i did a nd vote for the other guy. i mean not that ONE. u know whom i mean. vote for the other chap on the other side.

to think london with one of the best communities in the world culd be exploited by these very people, who are there bcos of our votes is just unthinkable.

next time think B4 u do it

  21. UK motorist have to pay for the millions of lazy useless dossers sponging off the state. We have the biggest welfare bill in the EU, thus the highest taxes

  22. here in France unleaded 95 is 1.45 euros on the motorway, that is over a pound a litre,  Yesterday I paid one pound 3 pence a litre in England.  Not that different.
