Why do we have weathermen on TV?

I know to tell us the weather. I've noticed that sometimes there is just a narrator and it seems better than a grinning goon throwing his arms around and winking.

would be nice if the weather people on tv actually got it right. and have you noticed that the forcast in the morning for that night is very rarely the same as the forecast given throughout the day.

i think the question should be more: how come on the news in the evenings sometimes aswell as telling you the weather for the next day etc, they tell you the weather from earlier that day aswell??

I have wondered the same thing myself and came to this conclusion: If you're watching FOX morning news, in Los Angeles, you get A DOSE OF "EYE-CANDY". FOX (because the weather changes very little from day to day), throw's "s**t" (goofy, nasty B***h's) into the mix to keep you from changing channels. (At least it keeps ME tuned in ! LOLL)

The purpose of having a weatherman on TV is exactly the same as having a weathergirl on TV.  It's someone to oggle.  What comes out of their mouths seldom ever has anything to do with the weather where I live.

Here in London it hardly ever rains. So, when the weather 'person' says the word 'rain' I know they're just talking piffle and pay no more attention.

Oooops!  It actually rained a bit last night.
