We hear the same c**p every day, whether its "Bush has screwed up everything" or "Bush's approval ratings are in the low 30's". Is it what it seems or are we simply in an era of misconception? My choice is the misconception one. What has Bush done that so bad?Are Americans so stupid now-a-days that they have forgotten what the President does and doesn't control.Does the President regulate gas prices, own the mortgage companies, control American's wallets, or control what intel he's given from the CIA? We'll that's a start to breaking misconceptions. To someone with just a little bit of common sense, George Walker Bush's presidency has been an absolute success. But to those unable to make their own perceptions, they believe this is a failure although I doubt they can't even name specifics as to what they consider failed. My fellow Americans, or more specifically yahoo answers',I encourage you all to try and break these misconceptions.Become better informed on this Presidency.

  1. It all starts with public schools.

  2. So what about the $9T dollars in Bush's debt that you like so much?

So what about an endless war (that serves no purpose--other than to fatten the wallets of Halliburton and other defense industry hacks)--that you like so much?

So what about how *isolated* our nation has become in the international community--that you like so much?

So what about the high energy and high food prices--that you like so much?

So what about the torturing of prisoners by the CIA, in Gitmo, and other places in Iraq and Afghanistan (Syria, Romania, and Iran), the warrantless wiretaps, and the breaking of every federal law and Constitutional amendments--that you like so much?

So what about all the lies, the distortions, and the misleading comments--by our government--that you like so much?

If this is what you call a 'successful' Presidency by one George Bush--I *really* would like to see what his failures are like.

  3. h**l NO! He's wastin s*** load of our money on stupid thing , while we have more important to worry about Like Duh.... freakin global warming, something that is destroying our world, and he isn't doing s*** to help. Yeah i know he is only human and people make mistakes but he is THE PRESIDENT he is the one in charge of every single person in the USA, why can't he take he job more seriously and really think about us.

  4. Excellent point the power of the wallet is great.

There is a subject which would  be one of interest for a book.

Swastika and The Car Two Symbols Of Death. Contrast car deaths with n**i deaths and ask why one is reviled as death and the other not.

  5. "....control what intel he's given from the CIA? ..." No, but he did severely edit it to suit his purposes and lied to Congress about "evidence" of WMD to go ahead with war plans against Iraq. An unneeded war that has destroyed the US economy. The economy was just rebounding from 9/11 and he has sunk us to the point where it seems we will forever be a debtor nation. Clinton left office with a budget surplus - which Bush squandered in a popularity move - tax breaks/refunds that benefited the rich most of all. He has weakened us horribly, destroying the nations moral along with the dollars value.

I am very well informed about this admin and am frankly disgusted by this presidency. I don't have the patience or stomach to type out the many reasons why...we are losing armed services personnel daily and maiming more ....as well as civilian - for what? For one mans ego.

What happened to Valerie Plame was treasonable behavior by his administration...a horrible example of partisan and dirty politics. They compromised the security of the nation to get a petty vengeance on someone who didn't tow the party line.

History has only started to judge this new Nero. Never elect a rich frat boy who never worked a day in his life, I guess is the lesson we should take away from this. Bush has lived politically by misconception ("mission accomplished!") and now is dying politically by exposure of those misconceptions.

Stick your head in the sand if you like, don't demand or expect the rest of us to do so as well. I prefer to try to dig the US out of this mess.

Every president has good things and bad - I just can't think of a single benefit of the Bush admin - then again, I am not a huge corporation with my hand in the US' pocket...

Edit - I notice that you skipped right over the king of deficit spending, Ronald Reagan,  in your debt information - how much debt did Clinton inherit? Clinton managed to pare down and balance the budget. We were actually paying down some of our debt. Reagan vastly increased the US deficit with his ineffectual "trickle down" economic model. Reaganomics (or supply-side economics) in practice meant large tax cuts targeted at the rich, and slashing social spending. We are basically in the hole Reagan dug for the middle class back in the 80's. Reagan nearly tripled the gap between the amount of money the federal government took in and the amount it spent. He did this by cutting tax rates by an average 25 percent, while aggressively increasing defense spending.

"In 1981, shortly after taking office, Reagan lamented "runaway deficits" that were then approaching $80 billion, or about 2.5 percent of gross domestic product. Within only two years, however, his policies had succeeded in enlarging the deficit to more than $200 billion, or 6 percent of GDP."

  6. Many on here are 18-20 years old, the only pres they have known is Bush and their media (Colbert/Stewart) have continually bashed him

To the poster above me, do a little checking on FDR

(Theodore Roosevelt) in is memoirs even he admits going

against the constitution, he did a lot more spying.

Check up on Clinton/Reno they were awful. Is it you have been brainwashed

  7. You are right but you are also a victim of your own question.Bush devalued the dollar with his useless war in Iraq to this degree he is culpable. In general Republicans favor deregulation, hence the mortgage debacle, oil speculation should have been regulated, it was not-Bush is an oil man and he let the oil interests have their way with us without exploring any alternatives-gasahol is a joke.-----You can type all you want-that does not make it true.

  8. Whew!! That was a mouthful! G. Walker Bush is just as human as you and me. He makes mistakes and has to live with it. The problem is, the mistakes he makes affects a whole country, not just the little ranch in Texas. The sooner he is out of office, the happier this country will be.

  9. This administration has been anything but transparent, there is always something shady going on behind doors, like shredding documents, torture, creating a bogus war, and the outing of undercover agents. Not to mention the spying American Citizens without warrents by the creation of the patriot act. These things alone should persuade you that this administration is c**p.

  10. Bush's presidency has both its positives and negatives. I'm an independent but I think history will tell the real story of his presidency.
