  1. Tialiar,

We love the nitrogen cycle because green plants need it to fix nitrogen in their root structures along the rhizomes.  If not for this cycle, no green plants would grow and you wouldnt have any fresh oxygen entering the atmosphere on a regular basis, nor would you have any fresh veggies to eat or fruit to eat or animals to consume and make skinns to hide your nakedness.

In short, without the nitrogen cycle, you would either suffocate, starve, or get one heck of a sunburn....or all at once!  OUCH!

    Get the picture?

  2. We love the nitrogen cycle because it is fun!

nitrogen goes from various oxidation states between +5 and -3. It is the most complicated cycle of al the macronutrients.

N is part of amino acids and DNA.

It is often a limiting nutrient.

And it has lots of feedback loops that are involved in climate, formation of certain sediment types and it indirectly controls the concentrations of other chemicals.
