  2. The most common place to find it is in lead-acid batteries like the ones in cars. It acts as the electrolyte.

    Apart from that you don't find it in everyday items, and certainly not in food, because it is corrosive. However, it is used to make all sorts of other chemicals, plastics, medicines, etc.
