Why do we need fast food?

Why is it that one will always crave any sort of fast food when you can't really afford to get one? yet when the finances are available its something that seems like its not worth while?

I think we need fast food so when we have a short break we can eat breakfast, and  lunch quickly and fast and can reach our workplace earlier  without getting late after break.
