  2. people die in stampedes of people. imagine being stampeded because of a fire.. it can be lethal

  3. Fire drills prepare people for when there is a fire. People can die if everyone runs to the door. These are practice for when there is a fire people know what to do.

  4. Yes.

  5. DUH!!! So we would know what to do if there is a real one!

  6. Sou you know what to do. People tend to panic when there is a fire. Practice help them. Especially if there are young children involved.

  7. Because some people die not because of the fire but because they don't know what to do. Some just jumps out of the building because of panic attacks.

  8. To ensure the safety of the people in the building should there be a real fire, they have rehearsed the procedures and are aware of what to do. Also it is a legal requirement.

  9. Gives exercise and mental preparation.

    Very important!

  10. The goal of fire drills is to have a good "habit" formed and the children know what the signal is.  Have you ever done a fire drill with a group of toddlers ...when it has been unplanned and they have never heard the alarm before?  COMPLETE CHAOS!  We do fire drills so that children know exactly what to do and they have confidence in their ability...it also keeps the fear at "bay".  Why I say this is when you do monthly fire drills the children get so use to them that when there is an "actual" fire drill...whether it be a fire or some child has pulled the alarm :-)...they go as if it is just a drill.   There is very little fear associated with the sound of the alarm.

  11. Yes.  What if there was a fire.  What will we do.

    Just burn.

  12. so the kids know what to do in

case there is a real fire!!!!!!!!!

  13. All schools, preschools and up to College have fire drills. The drills need to be practiced at various times of the day and using different escape routes. In case of an emergency it is important to get out of the building in the quickest route. by practicing the drills children will be saved. there is an interesting article in Time magazine this week about the lives of people who were saved at the Worls Trade Center on 9/11 because they had practiced fire drills.

  14. to understand and practise what to do in the event of a fire!!!

  15. so we no when to get out a building so we dont die

  16. just incase of a fire you know what to do.

  17. to make you aware of the plan, if there were a fire, so you would know what to do w/o having to go look it up on the wall and read the directions, you would just go into action because you have practiced it

  18. The whole point of a fire drill is to prepare both the staff and children for the possibility of a fire. Alot of children become upset at the sound of the alarms and staff dont know their roles to deal with this. If it were a real fire there would be caos!! Hense by having drills everyone is prepared!!!!!!

  19. So 1 the children learn what to do and god forbid there is a fire they will be a lot less alarmed because they know what to do.

    2. SAFETY!

    3. BELIEVE IT OR NOT SOME adults are not very bright!

    4. People panic and the more you practice the more likely it will become second nature to people.
