  1. If your blood didn't clot and you cut yourself, you'd never stop bleeding and you'd bleed to death. It's only bad when it clots inside you, stopping blood flow throughout your body. In that case, it can lead to heart attack or stroke.

  2. Genius, if you didn't have platelets you'd be a hemophiliac.

  3. platelets ensure we don't bleed to death.  so we have to have some clotting to live.

  4. Blood clots are what we need when we cut ourselves.  It clots of the bleeding.

The probably with the clots though is if one hits your lung, heart, or brain.  You can literally die from those

  5. The opposite of clots is hemophilia, if you don't have platelets you could bleed to death even from a nosebleed.  The body is only in harmony when it is balanced.  Too many of anything is bad, too little of anything is bad.  Hope this doesn't lead you to the glass is half empty instead of full place.

  6. I agree with everyone, you could bleed to death and die without them, but in some clinical situations they can cause harm, such of forming a clot on a atherosclerotic plaque in one of your coronary arteries of your heart, but you cannot survive without them. If you didn't have them you would be one gigantic bruise.  People who suffer from low platelets (such as hemophlliacs) have to have platelet transfusions frequently so be happy you've got them.
