  2. The main reason we need soil, simply put is that it sustains life on this planet, along with Fire, Water and Air. I may not get the points, but I've got the "best answer". wink.

  3. we need soil because from soil life attains certain elements and compounds necessary to maintain, expand, and produce more life (aka vitamins and minerals lol)...soil is just broken up earth, soil maintains life by allowing plants and microorganisms to flourish within it, thus supporting other life forms...it provides a place to anchor things of our livelihood, and allows us to grow crops and stuff...u cant grow corn on rock, u noe...and there are more reasons too...

  4. Soil is the medium that covers most of the terrestrial earth.  It creates a structure that stores moisture and nutrients for plants. It is also a habitat for myriad bacteria that recycle dead living matter.
