  1. good point, they always are whining.

  2. Because we were taught good manners, weren't you?

  3. Bullcrap if the minorities don't care about feelings.  Basically it comes down to this:  do you consider yourself a human being?  If so, who do you not consider on the same page?  Though it can be a complicated subject to reconcile, the main problem is that people, and I use this term in a generaliztion, don't consider others who are different from themselves as of a same breed.  We tend to define ourselves by general qualities and abilities, but ignore any common ground.

No one likes to be defined by generalizations that don't necessarily fit themselves.  No one likes to be dubbed by names that belittle themselves.  Do you enjoy being known by a name that makes you out to be a POS human, not capable of anything beyond serving the "mastah?"  I didn't think so.

We are all intertwined.  What is "below" to others is "above" to others.  We're all so preoccupied with being the best that we forget we are the same as others.

If you can accept you are no different from others; if you can deal with the fact that other people don't necessarily find your clothing choices, or your face, that attractive, then maybe you'll understand.  Basically, people don't want to have to deal with discrimination every day.  They don't want to be without employment because their skin is of a different color than the norm.  They don't want to be considered illiterate, or ignorant, because their skin cannot become light in color.

God forbid we should outlaw this mindset!  Let racism and ignorance reign, eh?!

  4. We as the majoity need to set the standard!

  5. Who is 'we'?

Everyone needs to be racially sensitive - we all come from the same mother (that's scientific fact) and need to respect each other.

I have no more time for the rap culture calling women b****** and ho's than for the n word.

Simple fact - if we don't respect each other (regardless of race), the future is a dark place.

  6. We don't.  It is a way for the people who capitalize on the race issue to keep it going so they don't lose their livelihood.  I have found that the most people who are members of a minority group are no different than I am and don't try to keep you walking on egg shells.  They just want to be treated like anyone else and judged on the merits of their character.  The idea of racial sensitivity and policies like affirmative action are offensive to them since it basically indicates that they are not capable of achieving things on their own without the help of "big brother".

  7. Stupid Should Hurt made a great point. It is simply a matter of being a good friend to all people and not considering for even a moment the color of the skin the strange accent or any number of things that the moral majority considers to be "necessary" to be racially sensitive. It comes down to the true meaning of the Golden Rule. We are to treat others as we would want to be treated ourselves. Here is a link that elaborates on the Golden Rule much more that I can on this forum it also includes sublinks:

  8. Uh, because being rude and hateful is, well, rude and hateful.

Civilized people aren't rude and hateful.

It's simply untrue that minorities don't care about what people say about them. Have you not noticed that people tend to be offended when others say rude and hateful things to or about them?

This is pretty much universal behavior.

You can be as filled with hate as you want. You're unwise to express it.

The idea is that, even though you may not actually BE a civilized human being, you should at least PRETEND to be a civilized human being.

If your incapable of even pretending to be a civilized human being, then you aren't fit to participate in civilized society.

  9. we dont need to neccesarily be sensitive, we just need to not be stupid and saying or doing things out of ignorance.

if youre black or chinese or, indian, i really could care less. I'm not gonna treat you any different because of it unless i'm curious about your culture.

s***w sensitive. youre human and i'm gonna treat you the same as anyone else. i dont like people in general because most of us are idiots who cause problems. what difference does a color make? i cant beleive people still even make distinctions about this.
