  1. It may seem irrelevant to you at this point, but it is essential that we know our history to keep from repeating the mistakes. What if the president was never taught history and went into a war knowing nothing. How far do you think that would get us?

  2. We need to know what has happened in the world.also, we need to know why some stuff happened in this world. dont u thnik its important that Cloumbus found america?? If they didnt teach us that, we would basically just be stupid. Everything that happened in the past, is why everything is here today

  3. Good question.

Why do we need to know what chemicals make fizz come out of a paper volcano?

Why do we need to learn that one number added to another equal another number?

Why do we need to throw dodgeballs in a gym, and go through the awkward event of chaning and showing in front of our classmates?

Why do we need to go to school AT ALL!?

That's just life, I guess.  You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both, and there you have...

    The facts of life.

  4. Because history repeats itself, so how are we gonna learn from our mistakes if we ignore them?

  5. I agree with you.  It's a total waste of time in my opinion.

Most people will be saying that we need to know the past so we don't make the same mistakes, but I say that the books we are getting the 'history' from is often very one-sided and sometimes incorrect.

If you are serious about History, you will read from many different sources, but they won't give you those at your school.

At your school, they will give one version of History and you will need to put that right answer down on the test if you want to pass.

So go ahead and play their little game so you can get that degree and get a good job so you can earn some money.

  6. I think we study our history because history tends to repeat itself until we learn our mistakes. Imagine if we didn't learn from world war 2, we'd be in world war 7 by now if we didn't learn anything. Same goes for revolutions 300 years ago. If we don't learn about it now, we could go to a revolution because of poor government. To sum it up, what we learn and know from the past can be applied to help stabilize today.

  7. We need to learn this stuff about what happened in the past so that it DOESN'T HAPPEN TO US AGAIN.
