  1. If we want to keep breathing oxygen, yes.

  2. SO that the earth does not go brown and gross

  3. because if we don't do it we all are going to die !!!! and that's what is basically happening don't you see the weather???

  4. for animals that live there, and for oxygen 4 us.

  5. Because their could be potential cures for diseases that we have not discovered yet.  Like penicillin.  Also they help reduce the carbon emission  levels, They are home to animals which many of the locals hunt for food.  There are many other reasons that I dont feel like listing here.  One more thing why destroy them?

  6. no rainforest, no air, no air, no life, earh bound life will become extinc.

  7. Rainforests represent a store of living and breathing renewable natural resources that for eons, by virtue of their richness in both animal and plant species, have contributed a wealth of resources for the survival and well-being of humankind. These resources have included basic food supplies, clothing, shelter, fuel, spices, industrial raw materials, and medicine for all those who have lived in the majesty of the forest. However, the inner dynamics of a tropical rainforest is an intricate and fragile system. Everything is so interdependent that upsetting one part can lead to unknown damage or even destruction of the whole. Sadly, it has taken only a century of human intervention to destroy what nature designed to last forever.

The loss of tropical rainforests has a profound and devastating impact on the world because rainforests are so biologically diverse, more so than other ecosystems (e.g., temperate forests) on Earth.

    Consider these facts:

A single pond in Brazil can sustain a greater variety of fish than is found in all of Europe's rivers.

A 25-acre plot of rainforest in Borneo may contain more than 700 species of trees - a number equal to the total tree diversity of North America.

A single rainforest reserve in Peru is home to more species of birds than are found in the entire United States.

One single tree in Peru was found to harbor forty-three different species of ants - a total that approximates the entire number of ant species in the British Isles.

The number of species of fish in the Amazon exceeds the number found in the entire Atlantic Ocean.

  8. Because nature is precious.. havn't you ever layed on your back and looked up at the clouds and thought "WOW"...or went camping and thought the animals were cute, or cool?? well if we don't save the rain forest you won't be able to think any of that.

  9. Rain forests play a vital role in nature because they are the MOST DIVERSE ecosystem in the world.

Cutting down trees is not just making the land less pretty, it is ruining homes for THOUSANDS of creatures, all of which play vital roles in maintaining a diverse food chain in nature and keeping that area running.

  10. For the answer to this, watch the appropriate South Park episode which adresses this matter (I think it was called F**k The Rainforest!)

In it we learn that the rainforest is a scary place to be, and the bounty and convenience of being in a paved over area with stores is SO much more preferable.

Remember, for all things life, South Park is ALWAYS the best guide on how we should handle ourselves and things.

(sigh) ...the rainforests (along with microscopic plant life in the oceans) produce virtually ALL of our oxygen.  No oxygen, no breathe.

Secondly all that green life acts like a filter (for all the polutants we put in the air. No filter, greenhouse effect results, we burn up like Venus and become a desolate ball in space where life USED TO be.

    In short, rainforests vital.

But i still like South Park

(did ya se the one where Stan's father figures out that we need to f**t as much as we can, so we don't spontaneously combust?

(Oh, I'm STILL following THAT advice!)

    (in fact...

(oops, gosh! i just emitted some greenhouse gasses

(guess i better go stand next to a tree while i do this!

  11. I think the biggest reason is it is so unexplored that we are detroying things we dont even know about that dont thrive anywhere but a rainforest.

  12. To protect millions of species, cures for disease, oxygen that we need, etc.

  13. it provides us with oxygen while ridding the plante of CO2

  14. mm because were trying to preserve some of the earths natural habitat and because the rainforests are beautiful!

  15. So that the greenhouse effect does not continue to develop and become a world-wide catastophie.

  16. :)

  17. because the rainforest contains animals and plants that are part of the ecosystem. we use a lot of those plants to help make medicines that could one day cure cancer or aids.

  18. they are lungs of the earth!!!

  19. honestly you could chop down every tree on the planet and it would not effect our oxygen.. the ocean provides us mostly all our oxygen.. but theres so many wonderful animals there that we need to save and its beautiful and we just shouldnt chop up the world.

  20. why

because the rain forest produce 40% of the world oxygen

  21. 1) The rainforest hold an abundance of diversity in plant and animal life, some that do not exist in any other ecosystem and some that have not even been discovered yet. These animals and plants are important to the diversity of the Earth and are important to biological and medicinal studies.

    2) The rainforest is a primary producer of oxygen on the planet.

  22. we need to save rainforest for the animals. a lot of people dont care for the animals, but the animals care for you. they eat all the bugs your allergic to, and they kill bugs that can kill you. another reason we need to save the rainforest is because rainforest have a lot of trees and trees has oxygen. trees helps us live. that is why we need to save rainforest!

  23. Rain forests grow couds, clouds produce candy floss. Without rain forests we would have no candy floss. Without candy floss we would have no fair grounds, without fair grounds we would have no roller coasters. Without rollers we would have no girls with curls and without coasters where would I put my beer glass.

  24. because without them Erosion will happen and it will pollute stuff causing dead zones

  25. Ok first off, Rainforest do NOT produce most of our Oxygen, they produce something like 20% so the loos of rainforest would not cause us to 'run out of air' (planctum in the oceans produces most Oxygen)

    But!

Rainforests release 20 MILLION tonnes of water into the atmosphere EVERY DAY, remove the forests and SEVERE drought will occour, causing other forest regions to suffer drought and then we have a snow ball affect, you can see where this is headding.....

They also store more carbon than ALL of the carbon stored in the atmosphere.. cut down the trees and that is released into the atmosphere adding to globle temps, not good.

But the most important reason why we need the rainforest (to me anyway) is because there is millions apon millions of plant and animal species living there... WHEN DID THEY HAVE THERE VOTE ON WHO NEEDS THE RAINFOREST HEY??? they sure do need it!!!!!

You know, once its gone its gone and the world will be a worlse place without it, and right now I see us all living to see the day when the last rainforest vanishes and it mekes me really sad :/
