Why do we never hear about Cricket WAGS?

I get so bored and fed up of the media going on and on and on about some vaccuous blonde who's only claim to fame is that she shares the bed of an overpaid soccer or rugby player.

You never heard about Cricket WAGS, which is something I am glad of - you never have to read Rachel Flintoff's "column" in Heat! magazine or see pics of her falling out of nightclubs.

Do you think its because Cricket WAGS are just a bit classier?

  1. the fame is in the game not the shame

  2. (1)Because cricket is not as high profile as soccer so the wives aren't as rich and famous

    (2) Nobody would care!

  3. In english and aussies cricket commentators sometimes comment a little bit of criketers wives when they are watching at the stadium BUT NOT MUCH, it's just a bit of introduction...  Cricketers are playing for their countries and have to show their good behaviour as best as they can to be a good model/idol for their fans especially with the kiddies who adores them...  But of course sometimes they just coudln't help themselves to reveal their true colours eg; Shane Warne.

  4. Here in Australia we have press overload about Lara Bingle (fiancee of Michael Clarke) she was in the "Where the bloody h**l are you" advert, shown in the UK.

  5. I think cricket attracts a different type of person. I don't think sophisticated is the the right word, but something along those lines. And then the cricket players attract different types of women (which are just as hot normally). So yes I think "Cricket WAGS" are a bit classier.

  6. Cricket WAGS may or may not be "classier", but the cricketers themselves are probably civilised enough to respect their privacy.  You don't hear much about chess grand masters' or even snooker players' WAGS either.

Football is called the beautiful game and the WAGS are beautiful, but footballers seem to chase things filled with air both on and off the pitch.

  7. I think they are classy.

  8. i agree with u,a good question

  9. It's probably because they are more middle class than council estate.  also Rachel Flintoff runs her own business as well as ACTUALLY being a mum and looking after her kids, despite the fact her husband is one of the most famous cricketers on the planet.

I also happen to think the Big Fred hasn't done to bad there!!

  10. Who's really interested in the 'other halves' anyway??   You should be interested in the sport, because of the sport, not because some bint that's a wife or whatever looks good in some fashionable outfit or because they look glam!!

  11. Cricketers haven't got the money to burn on fancy women and their fancy holidays and clothes.  Their wives and girlfriends wouldn't find it difficult being classier than the wags...they are just a bunch of slappers from what I can see.

  12. http://www.wags-blog.com/category/cricke...

Just the three cricket WAGS, it seems: Jessica Taylor, Rachel Flintoff, and Ruth Strauss.

Obviously cricket is a little classier than football. Hopefully all this Twenty20 stuff doesn't popularise it so much that the people involved in it cease to be sportsmen with families, and intead they and their spouses turn into 'celebrities'.

    Ugh!!

  13. No its 'cause cricket is a c**p 'sport.'

  14. Cricketers dont earn much so there wags are probably pretty ordinary
