The Earl and Countess of Wessex have two children, my question is 'Why do we never see the children in public with them like the rest of the royal family?'.

  1. several reasons:

    1) they're both still really young and the royals don't tend to start going public until they're a bit older

    2) when they were born the earl & countess asked for them not to be HRH's, and therefore they are not really members of the royal family - they will never carry out official royal engagements, because of the wishes of their parents

  2. The Earl and Countess of Wessex asked the media to respect their childrens' private life.

  3. The royals rarely show off their very young children,unless it's for a photo-shoot. The Wessex children are also more private citizens than their royally-titled relatives(they bear the titles and stylings of the peerage,not of royalty).

    I think,that as they get older,they will be seen more,much like the late Princess Margaret's children were.

  4. The men are homosexuals and have no interest in the women.

  5. They are very young, Lady Louise Windsor is only 4 years old and James Windsor, Viscount Severn is only 8 months old.

    Very young members of the royalty are hardly seen in public,

    The Earl and Countess of Wessex's children don't use the title of HRH but I don't think that is related to how often they are seen in public and they COULD eventually carry out royal engagements based on the fact that they are legitimate and direct descendants of the Queen.

    James, Viscount Severn is  #7 in the line of succession to the British Throne, and Lady Louise Windsor is #8.

    The children will decide, when they grow up, whether or not they will carry out royal engagements.

  6. -   The couple has made it very clear that they don't want their children exposed to media attention. I don't remember if Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were shielded similarly at that age.

    -   Who can blame the parents?

    -    Since Lady Louise and Viscount Severn are legally entitled the style HRH and Prince and Princess their parents may change their mind when they are older. When they reach their majority they are certainly free to use their legal titles. They may want to carry out royal duties as well.

    ============

    Their cousins Philip and Zara are not entitled to styles HRH and Prince and Princess since they are through the female line.
