I really like line 4 of stanzas one and two, was looking forward to the meter continuing. Still, I like the poem and its message very much.

"and evening meals were served" The most horrific actions are reported in our evening news TV broadcasts while we are eating yet I bet very few people stop eating at that time, because of it.

Yes, she was a living being. Thank you for reminding us that all of life is precious. Not to mention that youf last stanza is quite converbial, or maybe just controversial. I will be pondering those four lines for a very long time...iron bars do not rehabilitate, they hold memories that fester and infect. Change must take place in the heart of a person, not a dramatic performance for easily malleable human minds...okay, Eva, stop ranting, approve of the poem, and submit your answer.
