  1. Everclear, rum and whiskey all contain water, which would destroy your engine.

  2. Alot of people have legal stills. You can make it for around 75 cents a gal. you must register with the Gov.then mix at least 5 gals. gasoline to 100 gals. to make it undrinkable.

  3. Cheaper? No.

Cars need to run on gas or no higher then E85. Anything higher would not be good for the car.

If ethanol was 100%, then the companies that make the stuff would have to pay taxes to the ATF since they are distributing "alcohol."

  4. i have many times a few tweaks and you are off its just Illegal in most states

  5. Ethanol IS corn whiskey. And last time I checked, rum. whiskey, etc. was about $5 per flask, which looked to be about half a liter. They don't HAVE to mix it with gasoline, though, Wood alcohol [methanol] would do. It just can't be drinkable.

  6. They are the same thing, some has flavor some does not.

  7. first you have the problem that the alcohols you indicate are not a high enough proof to be a motor fuel, you need at least 160 proof.

second the alcohols you listed ARE ethanol.

third you need to make a few fuel system modifications to run straight alcohol, including larger injectors, or a card set up for alcohol, replacing fuel lines with ones that will handle alcohol, etc.

fourth all the alcohols you indicated are far more expensive than gasoline, by at least twice the price for the cheapest versions.

alcohol is not the answer to our energy needs.

  8. Go for it, you logic is flawless.

  9. Most states you can drive at age 16, but can't buy a drink until you are 21.  How would they stop teenagers from drinking from the nozzle at Everclear pumps?

  10. Rum and Whiskey are flavoured ethanol. Certainly not cheaper than ethanol.

E85 is ethanol mixed with gasoline. It's mixed because E100 would be consumed by people. Cars will use E100 as easily as E85.
