Question:

Why do we personalize animals/bugs and other living things?

Tonight we saw the cats play with and kill a moth. We wondered if the moth had a family. We wondered all sorts of things, thus bringing us into conversation about all kinds of things about this moth. Does anyone else do this?

What are your thoughts about personalization of other life forms?

  1. Mammals have the best developed brains, so they have the most "feelings" if you will. Moths don't have long term memory or any of the goods that say cats have. So I don't feel that bad for them. I'd feel worse if I saw a cat die.

  2. God gave man dominion over the animals of the air, water and land. This includes insects.

They are not human like at all, God created man and animals on different levels.

Animals can be used for food if need be. All this is written in Gods word the Bible.  One need not waste time wondering how the animal feels about all this, because they run off instinct not feelings.
