The media really seems to abuse their rights - they print whatever they want without a care in the world - at times they don't even check if it is truthful ?

Why do we put up with it so much?

  1. It's our only method of getting information and to regulate them is a constitutional violation.  It is our responsibility to become "questioning" viewers and readers of what the media puts out and do our own research.

I can tell you that they did not "cover" the DNC openly and fairly by any means.  It was a lot more live than was ever shown to the public.

Do not forget...24/7 news cable channels have changed the complextion of the media considerably.  They are now a business which must fill time and sell advertising.

  2. Most people will not vote for Obama no matter how hard the mass media pushes him with bias and spin. They were able to sink Hillary with the liberals, but they won't sway the common people.

  3. Because we dont own the tv networks or magazines, we are held hostage to the views and the opinions of the people who are trying to brainwash us into believing them and buying the products they are advertising, for the people buying there time ,so they can get rich to pay off and bribe all the politicians to vote and pass bogus laws so they can be privileged and benefit through all the loopholes the bribed laws create so they can have their illegal servants drive them around, watch their kids, cook for em ,clean their house, mow their lawns, wipe their *** ,all from the money they are hiding in an overseas tax free haven that you and I and the poor shmuck who hasn't figured it out yet, ARE PAYING FOR! NO CHOICE! only a biased one

  4. Don't buy into their garbage(nor for that matter their advertisers garbage). ;-)=

  5. The media does have an agenda and they twist and distort things to push their point of view.  So someone who has limited knowledge, can be easily swayed to a certain point of view.  The thing is, single media sources are hardly the whole picture.  I understand your frustration with media, but I suppose if you find a reliable, unbiased source, stick to it... and please let me know...!  They are fewer and farther between...

  6. The media is a business, just like everything else.  We put up with it because we have no other options for what is going on in the world.  But people should be smart enough to know there is bias and seek for the truth within all the c**p.

  7. Firstly, 99% of all press in America is controlled by corporations, who have an agenda.  There are some very good journalists here, but they are in a broken system.

Also there is this strange system of talking points being used to cover both sides of the issue.  Sometimes you don't need both talking points.

If a person A says one fact, and person B says another fact, they will print both peoples talking points.  When sometimes the press can just check the facts for themselves and tell us who is actually correct.

If someone says" Apples are high in vitamin C, and fiber.  They are very good for you".  Now if someone argues that saying, "Actually Apples cause AIDS".  Obviously this person is wrong, and doesn't deserve to have their view given the same weight.

This is an extreme example, but I like extreme.
