Maybe down to when we r little we use signing before we speak basic sign language is more important than many realise we use this language before we speak x

It probably dates back to the caveman days

to teach kids whats good and bad right or wrong

and is still hardwired into the brain

My girlfriend told me that women will instinctively

sleep the furthest away from the door in the bedroom

and the man sleeps at the side of the bed nearest

to the door

this is hardwired into the brain from the caveman days

because if theres a predator attack the man will be able

to defend the woman and save her or prevent her from

being killed

so that would be my answer

they couldnt talk so they used movement

to communicate and certain sounds

Interesting... I think it's just developed over time, perhaps during one of the wars when signals were needed. The word OK was coined in one of the wars.
