Why do we say "Have a Happy 4th July" and not" Happy Independence Day"?

We dont say Merry Dec 25th, or Happy Feburary 14th so why do we do the date on this holiday? ANYONE real delema we are having!

  1. Probably eager to imitate the French, who call their big holliday 'quatorze juliet' (juli 14th)


  2. Now some people actually don't think we are really independent.

    Independence might be too long to pronounce.

    And its Happy 4th of July; not the way you wrote it.
