For many of us, sleep is a precious gift (especially me)! Sleep must be important because all animals do it. Why do we sleep, and just what constitutes sleep anyway? Is sleep just a way to impose a quiet and immobile state? Sleep must serve some essential function as it cannot be eliminated. Genetic insomnia has been known to kill animals, insects, and even humans. Sleep could give the brain a rest to regroup after a hard day since we use 80% of its energy in order to keep the synaptic activity happening. Sleep may also allow for the consolidation of new memories, & the thrashing of older, random, & unimportant memories from the day passed. Some say we sleep so the body can repair itself. Have you developed a method of sleeping?

  1. if youve ever daydremt then sleeping is exactly the same just a stronger trance and your eyes are closed. While your in that trance youre very relaxed and it allows your to get more energy. Just like when you lay down for a long time after youve exercised when you get up from your 10 min break to start again your totally energized, except for a slight fatigue

  2. sleep is to regenerate yourself , have you noticed people that dont sleep that much look way older than what they really are?its because they dont let thier body regenerate, so if you want to look younger longer, just make sure you get atleast 8 hours of sleep a day, but if you sleep to much , thats almost as bad as not getting any sleep

  3. I'm sure there are a few reasons why, that's how we were designed.

  4. Rest

    Repair

    Renew

    Recharge

  5. not really, i sleep when i sleep, sometimes i don't even sleep, its weird, i can fully operate after about 3 hours of sleep

  6. to relax and  to get your energy back

  7. rest and sleep are very important for us that is when we fuel up like putting gasin the car it gives us energy t live the next day without sleep we would be like robots the only thing tht would help is caffeine

  8. Sleep Provides us with protection, it restores, and in the deepest stage of REM sleep the pituitary gland release a hormone called seratonin which is believed to premote growth in the human body.
