Why do we spend so much time???

Question

I just joined a great group which was restarted due to the large number of members they had. I think all should join and give an intelligent point of view on all issues. They deal with relationships, family and so forth. Or you can create your own topic...very healing for my soul at least.

Their topic now speaks about the presidential election...why do we spend so much time on this instead of just unifying ourselves because the enemies are steady moving in? Are we not paying attention?

We spend time on this b/c it's current events.  Until the 2 main parties we have ie. democrats and republicans nothing gets done.  Both think their ideals are right and could really care less about the ppl that elected them.  Even if we get someone in office who will end the war we are still going to be there for years to come.  As far as dealing with issues at home, I don't know what can be done.  I know I  don't want the govt. to be anymore involved in my life than they already are.  Yeah, lower taxes would be nice, but at what cost Our national debt is outragous and the stock market isn't looking promising roght now.  I an hoping for a independant candidate to win but lets face that isn't going to happen.  So I guess it's up to you this november to put your 2 cents in and hope your person wins.
