We study literature for the CULTURAL aspect, in which people can engage in historic literary texts to enable discussion of issues and values. For the INSTRUMENTAL aspect, in which we can acquire and understand modes of communication and how to operate them effectively and successfully. For the CREATIVE aspect, not only in creative writing but also the broad appreciation of intellectual creativity and originality. And for me, it  widens our ability of expression of opinions and feelings through writing or speech.
