Why do we sway and not stand properly when we are drunk?

alcohol affects the synapses in the brain these are spaces between cells that allow transmission of information alcohol slows these down so we can't react quick enough as a result we get the familiar swaying and slurring of a drunk person and it's also why drink driving is so dangerous as your reactions are too slow to react in time
