  1. When you start getting hotter (by standing in the sun or by exercising) your sweat glands are stimulated to release water, or sweat. When the sweat evaporates into the air, it takes a little bit of heat with it, thus cooling us down.

This is why it is dangerous when you stop sweating; it is a sign of dehydration, and your body will overheat, which can do some serious damage, if not kill you.

  2. When the body's temperature raises and the blood is warmer than the "internal thermostat setting" of the hypothalamus, this triggers an imbalance and it activates the heat-loss center in the hypothalamus in order to restore homeostasis.  Two things happen.  The blood vessels near the skin dilate (get bigger) and the capillaries (smallest blood vessels) become flushed with warm blood and heat radiates from the surface of the skin. Second, the sweat glands are activated and they secrete perspiration which is vaporized by body heat, helping to cool the body.  As body and blood temperature returns to normal, the hypothalamus heat-loss center shuts off.

  3. sweat is secreted by the sweat glands which open at surface of epidermis by a minute pore.....when the temperature of the body is increased by 0.25 to 0.5 C the sweat glands are stimulated to secrete sweat, which is conveyed to the surface of body by ducts...this helps the body to cool down and maintain the original body temperature...the sweat by evaporation over the surface of skin brings about coolness....and excess salts in the body are also secreted out of the body in the form of sweat.....

  4. Sweating is the body’s natural way of cooling us down. Although it may feel as if the sweat or perspiration is making us hotter, especially on warm days, without sweat, we would not be able to tolerate the heat our bodies would produce.

We sweat in order to keep the body at its normal temperature, which is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius). If we lost this bodily function we could suffer from heatstroke in hot weather.
