Why do we take calculas?

does medicine or dentistry need to take calculas ?

I don't think those fields require direct applications of Calculus. But possibly indirectly.

A lot of schools require at least a semester of it as a pre-requisite (med schools, anyway; I'm not that conversant on the requirements of dental schools).  You don't have to take it during med school.

I have to admit that it's the one pre-req I've never really been able to justify based on anything I ever had to do afterwards.  Statistics would have been a lot more useful, if they wanted to require a math class.

There is a slight bit of calculus such as the graph of a heart monitor, but it is mostly used as strictly a weeder course in college.

math is too important to just not take because you may not use it.  i recomend everyone at least take calculus if not further.  Only have power to gain from the knowledge.
