  1. almost as bad is better than just as bad.

that's why heroin addicts take methadone even though it is almost as bad.

  2. Because the side effects don't effect all of the people all of the time- just some.

just take 'em, and hope you are one of the lucky ones!??

  3. Side effects only happen in a small percentage of people. Most are not that serious (some are) and usually go away when the drug is discontinued. You must also consider what the consequences are from not being treated-they often can be life threatening or leave you permanently injured. If side effects are too serious the FDA will not allow the drug to come to market or if the side effects are discovered after the drug is on the market it will be pulled(Vioxx, Rezulin)

  4. all fda approved drugs are required to have side effects. there are actually 3 requirments that drugs must have but i forgot 2 of them. the reason of this is because all drugs have the potential to act differently with everyone. i side effect sorta gives the drug "slack to react".
