Why do we tend to jog/run/walk in a anticlockwise direction ard e track. even in impt sports event?

and why does doing the same in clockwise directions feels like we are going against a force?

  1. It's the coriolis effect.  In the southern hemisphere they run clockwise.


  2. Because that is the way we see the horses run every time we watch the Kentucky Derby.

  4. I think it's something to do with most people being right handed. I remember reading that when lost in the desert, when people think they're walking in a straight line, people actually tend to veer off slightly to the left, and they end up walking in a very large anticlockwise circle, without realising it. Just one leg stronger than the other, I suppose.
