  1. Liberal guilt.

  2. there is a population of Americans who protest to extreme degree when America refuses to help those in need from another country, how hard do we protest to get more money for schools, or better health care, or to remove a bad politician.

  3. I don't believe the Government's motives are altruistic at all.  Ultimately, there's always something in it for the US Government

  4. Politics .......................

    Plain and simple.......

  5. .First of all, what do you mean by the word "help."  That can be interpreted in many ways.  Help for one group may be hindrance for another.  It depends on the politics and the motive.

Secondly, you may want to analyze what countries the USA are helping.  Human need is the basis for help, but the USA is rejecting that help based on the politics of the country. Cuba is a prime example.

Thirdly, most countries the USA is helping will probably have something they want, either strategically or materially.

Sounds cynical, but the truth hurts.
