Question:

Why do we train foreign migrant workers ?

If the Governments answer to migrants taking British workers jobs, is to give better training to indigenous workers, why is it that many training places are taken up by foreign migrants ?

I know that this happens because I have 8 foreign migrants on my training course, which is a class of 20, (more than a third).

If the training courses are fee paying, then surely taxpayers are subsidising the the training of other countries populations, who are then undercutting British workers ?

  1. I have fairly extensive experience of immigrant workers and must admit that they are far more reliable than our layabouts in the UK. They are eager to please and are hardly ever off work or late. I'm not surprised that folk who have not dealt with immigrant workers, have a bad view of them. Perhaps they should take a trip to our warehouse and see just how hard the immigrants work, also how sloppy, lazy and set in thier bad ways, our local workers are. On average our local workers will have six weeks off on the sick, thirty occassions where they are late and a less than average performance(which has been measured by the time and study buffs). The foreign people have two days off on the sick and have never been late yet, thier performance is almost 100%. No wonder employers are impressed and will continue to employ these hard working people..

  2. You are absolutely right . That is something that we missed taking note of. Why Indeed ? The government tells us it is their skills that are needed. It is our Government that is skilled in feeding us voters a lot of Lies and half truths.

  3. WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS FOR THEM , WE THE BRITISH TAX PAYER , , THINGS ARE SO DIFFICULT FOR US NOW its about time we stood up to br counted instead of just moaning , i will stand , but it needs a body of people dint you think ,

  4. Normally I would be straight down your throat (verbally) but I have just done a U turn after reading Angela M's reply. So change of Tac.

Firstly it a free society and a more business run affair. European, and I beleive non-european migrants should be able to come here, train and work its called the free market. If we had spent more time listening to our teachers we would probably be able to speak more foreign languages and therefore be able to integrate ourselves into Europe and further abroad for work and development!.

Now lets deal with Angela and her liberal whinging tree hugging nonsense. I am British, I have worked hard since i was 16 and continue to do so to this day. I have an exemplary sick record and am educated (off my own back) and continue to educate myself in professional matters and, wait for it, for pleasure and development. I also speak 3 languages (English, French and Kiswahilli). I know many many people like myslef who are English and they come from a wide variety of social backgrounds. I have also owned companies that have relied heavily on immigrant labour, and trust me I have come across some of the rudest, laziest and ignorant people in the world. Now thats not to say that all imigrants are lazy, just as all English people are neither rude lazzy or ignorant. These qualities have been apparent to me in all cultures and races in all the countries i have visited, just as the majority of people i have met are cool, respectful and happy to see me.

All i can say is both of you Get a grip!

Stop bleating on, or tree hugging.

  5. There are 1.2 million Brits living in France

    900,00 in Spain

    150,000 in greece

and a further 450,000 in the rest of Europe.l bet nearly all of them are lazy thugs. So you might like to send Britain's migrants back home, but you would be outraged if 2.5 million Brits were sent home.

You can't have it both ways.

These people are not migrant workers, but are EU nationals which have the legal right to live.work, claim benefits and train in Britain. We have the same benefits abroad in the EU.

British workers are okay, but they are inferior to foreign workers, who worker harder, are more polite and are less greedy.

  6. ,.HIS REPLY WAS ''YOU CAN FIRE HIM FOR THE COLOR  HIS SOCKS' THEY HAVE EDITED THE COMPLETE TEXT THAT HAVE FOLLOWED THIS,DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY,NO COLOR IS IMPLIED.THE SOUTH HAS NOT FOR GOTTEN SLAVERY, THEY HAVE FOUND A WAY TO ENSLAVE  ALL OF US

  7. Because the benefits system in the UK is too cushy?

Polish and other nationalities are happy to come here and take jobs such as bus drivers simply because there aren't sufficient Brits around willing (and theres the key word!) to give up the benefit system the government have put them on.

Training foreigners in the absence of British workers is scandalous.

The population is the same as it was even ten years ago. The same british workforce then as now are still here.

    Where have they gone?

Why don't they want to work.

I'd find the means to get them back to work - as its there and greedily being had by our Eatsern European friends (and good luck to them I say!)

I am underwhelmed by this governments mediocrity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Sounds about right!

  9. is there a problem with training migrant workers? they are only abiding by the rules and making themselves employable in the job market.

    its a competitive market.

  10. I agree with David G. and I don't even live in the U.K....cheerio!

  11. So they don't p**p in the fields

Wow, you speak 3 languages, give the man a medal. How many languages do you think the so called 'lazy, rude, ignorant migrants' speak? Wewe kweli hujui Kiswahili, unadanganya watu ati unajua lugha.

  13. We train migrants for the same reasons we train anyone.

And training is a continuous part of our working lives now.

All sorts of stuff gets paid for by taxes.

That is what society is about.
