  1. A sixteen year old is not mature enough to assume the responsibility of driving a car.  People of that age are less likely to be able to make the sorts of decisions required in moments of stress where judgements have to be made quickly.  They do not have enough life experience to understand the level of danger involved in highway driving.  They are sometimes oblivious to the fact that we are all mortal, and that life can end in an instant by driving carelessly.  They are very likely to be affected by peer pressure to do dangerous or foolish things while behind the wheel.

  2. Personally, I love being able to drive at the age of 16!  I'm not going to do your homework for you, but here's some ideas to help get you started and give you some resources.

    1. We don't allow people, to smoke, drink, vote, or gamble until they reach the age of 18. Why is it that we can't be expected to do these things responsibly, but we can be let out on the road with other people, with a potentially high speed weapon.

The next two points are taken from the website in the link below.

    2.  Motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) are the leading cause of death in people age 16 to 20. MVAs account for about 1/3 of deaths of people in this age group.

    3.  16-year old drivers are 20 times as likely to have an MVA as people in the general population of drivers. This is compareded to 17 year olds who are only 6 times more likely to have an MVA than the general population.

  3. I think that the driving age should be raised all over the world.  Too many young people are being killed in car accidents because they don't have the maturity to be behind the wheel of a car.

  4. You have to be eighteen to vote so you should be minimum eighteen years old to drive.
