Why do we weigh less the first thing in the morning?

I realize we dont eat or drink anything during that 6-10 hour period but what is the real reason

  1. There are Two real reasons...

    No.1...even thought your metabolism has slowed it's still burning some fat.

    No.2. Water evaporation through the skin. You will loose nealy a pound or more from water evaporating during the night...that happens all the time only when you're up you're usually replacing it so you don't notice it.

    Most of what you lose during the night is water. Getting up to pee also counts..


  2. I think the reason is because we don't eat or drink. Then if you go drink water or eat something you'll gain the weight back. Probably because your stomache is empty.  

  3. For some reason sleeping burns the fat in your body especially if you are a wriggler in your sleep too you are bound to lose some weight and as you mention we are not putting anything into our bodies for 6-8 hours!!  

  4. imagine your body like a car.

    during the day your constantly filling it up with fuel and using it straight away. so you stay a similar weight.

    but in your sleep your not re-fueling, your just burning off extra untill your tank is almost empty.

    so yes it is basically because you dont eat, your body uses up all the extra food and drink from during the day.

    also you sweat about 8L of water in one night. thats a llot of liquid weight  

  5. because your body has no food in it ..

    thats why its best to look at your weight before you eat so you can get your correct weight..
