  1. Why do we write? Mmmn.

We write to communicate our feelings on any given subject, and once you have put pen to paper you cannot deny your own written words. The spoken word is less reliable, as you can deny you ever said it. Also, it is very easily misunderstood and can lead to all sorts of complications. The written word also can be unreliable if the writers grammar is not up to scratch, a comma here and there can make all the difference to a piece of script and so change the meaning completely, so, in conclusion, one should check and double check what one writes, as one may end up in court for liable. jinglin jimmy.

  2. Writing can enable us to be more creative and get our point across. For example, it can be easier to write down your feelings for something/someone, rather than tell them. It is also good for different emotions, ie anger, hate and happiness. I dont believe that it is the only means of communication, but it is certainly a powerful one. :)

  3. Writing is the best form of communication if you want to tell alot of people information over time and don't want it to get distorted.  Remember that game "telephone" where you spoke something into someone's ear and it traveled around the circle, and at the end, it wasn't what it had started out as?  That's probably what the ancients experienced, so in order to prevent that from happening, they developed writing, because it's harder to change than spoken words.
