Why do werewolves turn into beasts only during full moon?

just a folklore that says man turns into beastlike behavior, and the connection with the full moon is that many are affected by the phases of this moon cycle this people do abnormally. And associating such behavior to wolves, not other animals is to indicate that men that move in packs or alone do horrible things as mutilating the bodies of unwary victim/s , and most of the time they fight or kill each other then.

Men (both sexes) in general and women in particular are said to exhibit intermittent mental derangement associated with the changing phases of the moon.  I suppose it encompasses the entire animal kingdom.

Besides, lycanthropy isn't really anything to do with the wolf genes, its just a process of which the muscles are made to virtualise the boney vertebrate skeleton, resulting in the build of a half man, half wolf. Never heard of some one changing in reality into a full wolf, but the characteristcs locked in human genes of the wolf is unleashed, leading to the behaviour of a wolf, and the look-alikes of a werewolf.

And vice versa. However the lycanthropy was lost almost in the middle ages, but it was recovered by an American Scientist in 1765 with the interactability of plant cells and photosynthesis, he researched a cell that was an animal cell, but photosynthesised under Gamma Rays and activated a dose of viral cells, causing a chain reaction in the body, resulting in lycanthropic metamorphosis.
