Why do women's cycles start to align with other women's cycles?

Doesn't it seem like your period starts to come at or around the same time as the periods of the closest women in your life? Why does that happen? Has anyone else experienced this?

  2. Probably because you are like a pack, or a heard. In nature the females cycles align so a male can impregnate them at the same time.

  3. It is brain chemistry and is triggered by odors.  The first research on this was done in women's prisons.  If it were actually related to the moon, we'd all go off like clockwork, and we don't.  TG.

    This happens to me all the time! But i never thought about it much, just thought it was co-incidence. Is this actually true then?

  7. Yes. I read somewhere that it's caused by pheromones.

  8. I have no clue why this happens.  I used to be on a competitive dance team with 20 other girls.  We spent a lot of time together and about 2/3 of us began to have our cycles together.  It's never a good thing....especially with 14-18 year olds.

  9. thats so true, thats happened with me an my closest girlfriends and sisters, I'm not sure why it happens but it does a lot!

  10. it's very common actually, have you noticed that animals have mating seasons? this is the human version... it's nature's way of making us all be ready to reproduce at the same time, this doesn't work as well as other animals because humans live so far away from eachother that a constant 'mating season' hasn't occurred.

  11. Your cycles are related to the cycles of the moon. as the tides are. Thats why you get rough tempered at the same time.

    Just before the new moon is the period called dark moon where eveil forces are more powerful.
