  1. They don't

the whole 'size 0' thing is an issue marketed to women by women.

Women are publishers of fashion magazines and fashion designers use size 0 models to model their clothes because women are the target audience and that is what women want

It is women who drive the need to be skinny because women are so competitive with each other.

  2. It's hard not to think that when those women are constantly held up in the media as the standard of beauty. Why don't men just come out and say that they don't find it s**y?

  3. Men's magazines are not nearly as bad as the modeling and fashion industry.  Case in point: Jenny McCarthy, when she started out as a model, was actually told to lose weight.  Most guys, myself included, would think that she looks awesome the way she is.

Men like curves in their women.  Playboy playmates are far from an ideal body type, but at least they look like they eat.

  4. Women see what's in mens magazines and calenders, etc and know that it's every mans dream to have the perfect woman who is tanned, slim, yet busty.  In other words, perfection.

  5. I want a woman who is healthy and confident.

Some women are size zeros without starving themselves. It's the way they're built.

Most aren't, and they shouldn't try to be. They should take pride in their own bodies and take care of it.

    Confidence is s**y.

  6. Not every girl thinks that. like some of us are happy with how we look && dont need a guy's opinion to change that. were happy with who we are. and hopefully the guy will respect that.

  7. Because we are bombarded by images of the perfect woman. Also, next time you watch TV, try counting how many DIET commercials come on targeting women.

I know not all you guys want that, but we like to look good for you. And some go to extremes to do so. It's not your fault, it's what we have learned.

  8. My husband always tells me that he's glad I'm not a bean pole. He likes a little something to grab.

  9. Because they have low self esteem and constantly need men to reaffirm their beliefs.

  10. Some men probably do but you'll find girls with a little meat on their bones who have bad attitudes and personality flaws will say the only reason they are single is because they aren't a size 0.

  11. I don't think ANY man wants that - as my boyfriend would out it: "The whole reason women are s**y is the b***s and the bum"

If you're size 0, I imagine fewer men find that attractive than a curvier, rounded figure.

  12. It's a challenge presented by society to be the thinnest.  Thus some companies like the Gap are making size 00 -that's double zero.

  13. Ignorance and lack of integrity.

  14. It's what is in the magazines, and women really seem to love magazines for some reason.

  15. Media manipulation!

  16. well it isn't totally wrong what they are thinking. alot of guys like skinny size 0 women. i have seen guys who won't date anyone above a size 4. my own dad proves it with the way he acts and thinks. he loves skinny women and tells me everytime he sees me that i'm gaining weight even though i'm only a size 8. who knows.

  17. you should edit that to some women, instead of generalizing.  the fashion industry, controlled by both men and women, promotes anorexic models (both men and women), and just as some men want a size 0 woman, some women want a slim man.

  18. I second Capone.

  19. I don't think that.  Although I've met some guys that do like that, but they're not really my type as well..

  20. Do some of the answers above think guys magazines do not promote this image, or that girls don't read them? FHMs 100 sexiest women, for example...

I actually think most women don't think this way though; at least not constantly. Many of the girls I know prefer their curves, or want to be a healthy size, not skinny. I don't know many obsessed with the size 0. Maybe my sample is skewed though, being mainly student.
