All these abortions in this world was not caused by a failed method of birth control. People need to stop making excuses.

  1. A passionate encounter can prove the need for an abortion where there wasn't a need for birth control before.

  2. Not thinking of prevention and then it's too late and they panic.

  3. I honestly have no idea... my husband and I talked about this when we dated and he had always suggested that if we had gotten pregnant that I should have an abortion... But I kept telling him that I did not feel comfortable doing that and that I would feel guilty for the rest of my life... Thankfully we never had to go through that scenario and I was on contraceptives and he used a condom everytime...

ADD: I have to say this also... as a woman that studied through all the different types of contraceptives before having s*x... there are contraceptives that do not mess with your hormones (as the depo shot did with me as well as helped me gain 45 pounds) and also according to my father in law who is a doctor... birth control works really close to 100% effeciency if taken properly... now whether someone was on birth control and was taking it properly and STILL got pregnant I do not know..... but there are some women that use abortion as their preferred method of birth control and to me that is just not right.

  4. Every woman who obtains an abortion's situation is different, but I think a very big misconception pro-lifers have about women who obtain an abortion is that many of them are using it as a frequent form of birth control. This is untrue. Abortions are pricey: about $500, and frequent abortions lead to issues like scarring of the uterus, which leads to sterilization.

  5. This assumption is always one that leaves my head spinning.

Most women choose both. Birth control is very effective but not 100%.

And in the cases were women did not choose birth control, she might not have "chosen" to have s*x.

  6. Perhaps because the method of birth control used failed. I had a friend who was on the pill and used condoms, and she still got pregnant.

It's not an excuse. She's never gotten over having her abortion, but it's not an excuse. Why are people so close-minded when they ask a question?

  7. I have gotten pregnant using-

condoms (do you know they are only supposed to be on for 8 seconds after the male o****m)

    birth control pills

    diaphragm

and having s*x during my period (sperm stays viable up to 7 days in a woman's body)

I have 2 kids, i had miscarriage at 4 and 1/2 months (blame the pill) and 1 abortion.

Depo shots worked for me perfectly until I had my tubes tied.

  8. 1.  Because birth control fails.  I took several antibiotics while on the pill, and didn't find out for several years that antibiotics interfere with the pill's efficiency.  I lucked out.

    2.  Because birth control costs money.  Even at places like Planned Parenthood, pills cost, and there are many rural communities without even a PP.  Thanks to the current administration, many women don't even have access to birth control pills.  Other methods also cost money and may be less reliable.

    3.  Because they were in love, and realized too late that the relationship wasn't what they thought it was, or that they really weren't prepared for a child.

There are a number of reasons.  Abortion is surgery and it costs several hundred dollars.  Nobody decides they'd rather have an abortion than use birth control because abortion is so much cheaper and easier.  It isn't.  It's a last resort.  Having an abortion isn't making an excuse, it's a way of taking responsibility.  Having a baby and hiding and killing it or dumping it is avoiding responsibility and making excuses.

  9. 1) Laziness.

    2) Readily available as a quick fix in a Microwave Society.

                         Women have abortions; Mothers don't.

  10. Well, after one is already pregnant, "choosing birth control" is a little pointless, isn't it?

  11. Self centered, egomaniacs, believe they are the center of the world, babies are inconvenient so kill them, will not take responsibility for anything they do.

  12. I don't know. I mean they are killing a precious life. And i don't know how they could live with there self how it isn't on there mind for the rest of there lives. I mean why can't they just use condoms, birth control, or wait when the time is right. There are people out there (including my self) that try to have babies and are having trouble having them and people that just can't have one at all and would love to adopt and have one of there own. There are so many people in the world that would love to take care of an inisant child. It just makes me mad. I'm glad some one else questions this as well.

  13. Some don't think of the consequences, but birth control does fail sometimes.

  14. What's the premise of your question here? I could talk about side-effects from hormonal contraception and the difficulty in obtaining permanent sterilisation, but given how much your question reads like, "Why are women who get abortions such irresponsible s***s?" I don't think it's worth me bothering.

  15. It is absolutely false that the more educated a woman is the less likely she is to have an abortion.  Here is how it works:

The more educated a woman is the less likely she is to get pregnant unintentionally.

But, once pregnant, the more educated a woman is the more likely she is to have an abortion.

I learned these statisitics from a feminist radical pro-choice professor.  (She was awesome by the way)

The fact of the matter is most people who get pregnant while on birth control do not use it every time.  Skip a pill?  That is not using birth control all the time.  When being prescribed an anti-biotic, any Doctor will tell you it interferes with birth control.

The thing I hate about the abortion debate is the excuses.  If you asked these people if it was OK for a woman to do drugs while pregnant you wouldn't be hearing "Oh she's poor, she's uneducated, she couldn't afford to make wise decisions."

  16. Abortion rates are directly correlated to disposable income and education. The more educated and wealthy a woman is, the less likely it is she will have an abortion.

  17. i would NVR have an abortion i would do birth contrl first b4 an abortion ... but i see what you mean tho ... idk???

  18. You are aware that Orth Tricyclin aka the pill, is most common form of BC used among young women.  Is only 90% successful, when used correctly.  There is no such thing as 100% BC available at this time.  And to that people make mistakes, skip a pill etc that increases the chances even more.  Average is 20% of the women on the pill will get pregnant.

So even if a couple choose to use BC the chances are still there of an unwanted pregnancy.

  19. Abortion is easy, birth control is hard

  20. There are three possible reasons I can think of:

    1. Sorry to reiterate an argument that annoys you, but sometimes birth control fails.

    2. Sometimes a couple forgets birth control/doesn't feel like interrupting what they are doing to go out and get birth control.

    3. Sometimes a couple doesn't want to use birth control because of social stigma, or because they don't want to spend the money.

  21. you need to do some statistical research.  This will get you started:

Induced abortions usually result from unintended pregnancies, which often occur despite the use of contraception (CDC).

54% of women having abortions used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant.

Amont those women, 76% of pill users and 49% of condom users reported using the methods inconsistently, while 13% of pill users and 14% of condom users reported correct use (AGI).

8% of women having abortions have never used a method of birth control (AGI).

9 in 10 women at risk of unintended pregnancy are using a contraceptive method (AGI).

That is from the Center for Disease Control

  22. Women who choose abortion as a method of birth control would likely make rotten mothers anyway so they should not be forced to have their babies.
